Skiing in West Virginia

Seven ski areas in West Virginia invite nordic and alpine skiers to descend their slopes and tour their back-country trails. All are located in the Allegheny Mountains region at elevations above 3,000 feet. Most West Virginia ski areas operate from mid-December through mid-March, though those at the highest elevations may open as early as November.
